Unlike traditional index managers, we believe sufficient index exposure can be achieved with a subset of securities in the index. Our portfolio managers have developed proprietary algorithms, which determine which stocks best represent the sector and industry weightings, risk exposure, and performance of any given index.

Following this initial construction process, we then rebalance portfolios regularly with an eye toward harvesting losses to offset any gains – both inside and outside the portfolio – and providing potential after-tax alpha.

Given changes in day-to-day security performance and personal investment considerations, this stratification process results in a truly individualized portfolio for each investor.
